SMILE ON SIX

A New Way To Smile

Smile on Six Dental Implants

If you’ve been told in the past that you aren’t a good candidate for dental implants, all that is about to change. At The Burkitt Center for Comprehensive Dentistry, we’re always learning, and looking for better ways to treat our patients, and with Smile-on-Six implants, we’ve found a way to give you a fully functioning set of implant-retained dentures, even if you’ve experienced bone loss. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology and advanced techniques, it will only take a single visit to give you the comfortable, natural-looking grin you’ve been waiting for.

First Things First

Why implant-supported bridges?

Unlike traditional removable dentures, which fit over the gums and are secured with friction or adhesives, implant-supported bridges are fixed, which means they can’t be removed and won’t slide around or shift in the mouth, so you can speak normally and eat whatever you please. The implants that support the dental prosthesis are bonded directly with the jaw bone through a process called osseointegration, allowing them to function just like natural tooth roots. Implants are the only dental prosthetic that actually stimulate the jaw, preventing further bone loss and keeping your mouth healthy.

Support, Stability, Versatility

What Makes Smile on Six Special

Similar to “all-on-four” or “all-on-x” dental implants, Smile on Six is a procedure involving the placement of multiple dental implants to support a full-arch of false teeth. The minimum number of implants needed to support a full-arch is four, so for years that was the standard recommendation for the procedure. But what happens when one of the implants fails? Well, the whole set of dentures fails.

We have since discovered that placing six implants not only provides extra support for the prosthesis, but the additional stability also means that the bite can remain functional even if one of the implants fails. By going above and beyond and overengineering, not just doing the bare-minimum, our team at The Burkitt Center can give you a smile that will stand the test of time.

Have You Experienced Bone Loss?

You Can Still Get The Smile You Deserve

Patients that have lived with missing teeth or severe decay for some time have also undoubtedly lost some of their jaw tissue through bone resorption. When a tooth is missing, the jaw isn’t stimulated under that empty space, eventually causing the loss of bone density. Part of the Smile on Six process is ensuring that you have enough healthy bone tissue in your jaw to support at least six dental implants. If you don’t, we’ll explore options like bone grafting and 3D printing to replace the missing bone and give you a solid foundation for your smile restoration.
