Understanding the Basics

What Are Veneers?

Veneers are thin, custom-made restorations crafted from durable porcelain. They’re designed to cover the front surface of your teeth, improving the appearance of stains, minor gaps, uneven edges, and other cosmetic concerns.

While veneers can enhance slightly crooked teeth, they aren’t a solution for severe misalignment or bite issues. In those cases, you may need Invisalign or other orthodontic treatment first. Veneers also aren’t used to restore teeth with serious decay or structural damage. Dr. Will will help determine if veneers are right for your smile and your overall oral health.

The Benefits of

Veneers in Brentwood

Veneers offer a wide range of benefits. As one of the most versatile cosmetic treatments, they can improve the appearance of stained, uneven, or misshapen teeth by covering the entire front surface.

They’re also strong and long-lasting. With proper care, veneers typically last 10 to 15 years. Daily brushing and flossing, along with regular cleanings at The Burkitt Center, help keep them in great shape.

Veneers also deliver fast results. In just two visits over a few weeks, you can achieve a brighter, more balanced smile that feels natural and looks great.

Knowing

The Brentwood Veneers Process

After you’ve been approved for veneers in Brentwood, TN, Dr. Will will schedule your veneer preparation appointment. At this appointment, the team will clean and numb your teeth, then use a dental drill to remove a thin layer of enamel from each of your teeth, in order to make room for your veneers.

Once your teeth have been trimmed, your Brentwood cosmetic dentist will use dental trays and putty to make impressions of your teeth. These will be sent to a dental lab where your permanent veneers will be made. It will usually take 2-3 weeks for your veneers to arrive at our office, so you’ll get a set of temporary veneers to wear, and you’ll be sent home.

You’ll come back for your final appointment when your veneers arrive at our office, and Dr. Jones will check each one to make sure they fit perfectly. If everything looks good, your veneers will be bonded to your teeth permanently using dental cement, completing the procedure.
